This page explains the limits of what Boxie POS does and what you remain responsible for. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where they conflict, the Terms govern.
1. Tax calculation
Boxie POS calculates tax using the tax pack you select for your country, plus any rates and rules you configure. Tax packs are published for convenience and are prepared with care, but rates, thresholds, exemptions, and rounding rules change, and their correct application depends on your business type, your registration status, and how you categorise what you sell.
We are not your tax advisor. You are responsible for verifying that the tax your registers charge is correct for your business, and for filing and remitting to your tax authority. Review the configured rates before you trade, and re-check them when a pack updates or your circumstances change.
2. Financial and business records
Reports, totals, and exports are generated from the data recorded on your registers. They are operational tools, not audited financial statements, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for filings, valuations, or legal proceedings without independent verification.
3. Offline operation
Registers keep selling when the internet is unavailable, and sync when it returns. During an offline period, data entered on one register is not visible to others, and cloud features such as live view, remote management, and cloud backup are unavailable until the register reconnects. Prolonged offline operation may also affect features that depend on an active subscription.
4. Backups and data loss
Where your plan includes cloud backup, we take reasonable measures to protect your data. No backup system eliminates the possibility of loss. You remain responsible for keeping your own copies of records you cannot afford to lose, particularly before upgrades, hardware changes, or migrations.
5. Payment processing
Boxie POS records payments and can integrate with third-party payment providers. We do not process card payments ourselves. Settlement, chargebacks, refunds, disputes, and compliance with card scheme rules are matters between you and your payment provider.
6. Hardware and third-party services
Printers, cash drawers, scanners, displays, operating systems, and network equipment are supplied and warranted by their manufacturers. Third-party integrations are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or changes to their behaviour.
7. Licensing and subscriptions
Access to cloud features, and to per-device licensed deployments, depends on an active subscription or licence. Where a subscription lapses, functionality may be limited or suspended in accordance with the Terms. Attempting to circumvent licensing or subscription enforcement is a breach of the Terms.
8. Availability
We work to keep the service reliable but do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, incidents, and upstream provider outages can affect cloud features.
9. No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boxie POS is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you believe a tax pack or calculation is wrong, contact us through Support. Tax pack corrections are treated as a priority.
